What are the "Latest Updates"?
The Latest Updates page is sort of like a blog for me to let all of the readers know what is new on the site. Sometimes I will add features that may not be very obvious or an older show that won't be at the top of the list, so check this page often to see what is new!
How do I get to the car shows?
To get to the main part of this website, the car show galleries, simply click the link on the left hand menu that reads "Car Show Pictures" and you will be taken to the gallery. The first page sorts the shows out by year, and the next sorts them out by show. Click on the show album you want to see and you will be taken to a thumbnail list of all of the pictures. To view more detail click one of the pictures. Most of the pictures in the gallery can also be viewed in their supersized form by clicking the photo once more. To close out of the supersized view just click the picture and it will close and return you to your previous page.
I want to order a picture from a car show. How do I do this?
Almost all of the images in the car show gallery are available to be ordered in prints, posters, or other items. I have written up an indepth tutorial on how to pick your pictures, add them to the cart, and finalize your oder. You can view this tutorial on the "Ordering Info" page.
What are Show Boards?
Show boards are large displays that custom vehicle owners put up in front of their cars at car shows or other events when they want spectators to see all of the details of the vehicle. I can make them in a variety of sizes and add pretty much as much information and photos as you would like. Show boards can also earn you points at judged shows so they could be the deciding factor between winning a trophy and going home empty handed. They are great conversation starters as well because sometimes people want to read up on a car first without having to talk to the owner or they may see something they didn't realize the car had and spark up a new friendship.
How can I get my own show board?
Show boards are all custom made to order so I don't have a template or basic order form. All you have to do is get some ideas about what you want and drop me a line. I am pretty easy to get ahold of and willing to work with whatever details you need on your show board. I can also do custom posters of the vehicles if you're not wanting a descriptive show board. Either way just visit the "Contact" page and give me a little bit of information about what you're wanting and I will get back with you as soon as possible. I will create a proof of the board and get your verification before sending it off to print and delivery. That way you can ensure there are no spelling errors or descriptive errors. I can use your photos you send me or if your car is pictured in the show gallery and it's a picture you want to use we can just use that. No matter what it is you're wanting, I will do my best to make it a stressful experience and ensure you get exactly what you want with your own custom show board.
How do I play a video on my computer?
The videos on this site can sometimes be very large and take a while to stream. For best results you should pre-load the video by clicking the play button and as soon as the video starts playing pause it and let it load up for a few minutes. You can see that the video is pre-loading by watching the dark gray bar at the bottom of the video. It will move towards the right as it loads up. Some videos are not in FLV format and don't have a play button. These videos won't start playing until they are fully loaded so you may have to look at a black screen for a few minutes as they load. Loading times will depend entirely on your Internet connection speed and the length of the video and can range from 1 minute to 30 minutes. If you think a video is corrupted or isn't playing at all, please contact me and let me know so I can fix it.
I want to add a new event to the show calendar. How do I do this?
I want all of my readers to feel free to advertise about any events they are hosting or know about. I've tried to make it as simple as possible to do this. Just click the "-Post New Event" link on the left hand menu. There you will see a menu of options asking for the date, ending time, name, location, and information about the show. I ask for the ending time because the page automatically deletes the shows as soon as their ending time is reached so if I put the start time it would delete as soon as it started and some readers may not know it's going on the day they are looking. Please put as much information as you would like and add as many events
as you would like to advertise.
I want my own featured ride page! How do I do this?
I would like anyone and everyone who is interested in having their own featured ride page to feel free to do so. I don't discriminate on any make or type of vehicle. To get your own page just follow the "Feature Ride Info" link on the left hand menu under the Upload Pages menu. When you get there you will see an upload box at the top and an info form at the bottom. First select all of the photos you want on your page in the upload box and hit the upload button. While your photos are sending you can fill out the bottom form with information on your vehicle. Be sure to hit the submit button when you are done. Make sure the upload box is at 100% before you leave the page. I will contact you when your feature page is online so you can see it and verify that there aren't any mistakes.
How do I put my picture in the Readers Rides page?
The Readers Rides page is a quick and easy way to put your vehicle on the site for others to see. Simple hit the browse button in the top right and find your picture. After you find it hit the upload button and you're done! The picture may not show up immediately but if you hit your refresh button or click the #1 at the bottom of the gallery on the bottom of the screen your picture should be one of the first ones in the gallery. Feel free to upload as many pictures as you'd like. If you click the photo in the gallery you will see a larger version and be given a code under the picture. This is BBCode to let you easliy post the photo in a forum or other site that uses BBCode to handle image posting.
I need to sell something. How do I put a new item in the classifieds ad page?
The Free Classifieds is a simple to use place for anyone to post up items they are selling or browse for items they may be looking to buy. If you have something you want to sell, just click the "-Post New Ad" link on the left hand menu. There you will be given some options of selecting a category and giving your ad a title, price, and description. On the price menu be sure to only put numbers, no decimals, dollar signs, or letters as this will cause the ad to show "FREE" for the price. You can upload one or two images of the item also. Your E-Mail is taken so you can verify your ad and delete it when you need, but it will not be visible to the public. They will be able to contact you through a form on the bottom of your ad. Be sure to hit the submit button when you're done filling out the information. Sometimes large images may take a while to send over so after you hit the submit button it may take a while to go to the next page. Once it is done submitting you should receive an e-mail with a link to activate the ad. Click that and you will be shown the ad and it will be online. The e-mail also gives you a link to delete the ad if your item sells or you no longer want to sell it.
I need to get in touch with you. How do I contact you fast?
I have a quick contact form set up on the "Contact" page. Here you will find a very easy to use form that simple asks for your name, e-mail address, message subject, and then a large window for you to type in your message. I try to check my email throughout the day so I should be able to respond pretty quickly.
What is the "Newest Photos" page?
The newest phtoos page will list all of the images in the gallery sorted by when they were added. The first photos may not be from the newest show as sometimes I add pictures from shows that have happened in the past. There is a date listed under each thumbnail listing when that image was added to the gallery.
What is the "Most Viewed" page?
The most viewed page will sort the images in the gallery by which ones have been viewed the most by readers. The list also includes videos and photos from featured rides.
What is the "Top Rated" page?
The top rated page will show which images in the gallery have been rated and in what order going from highest to lowest. Underneath each photo in the gallery you will see 5 options to rate a photo from 1 to 5. Click on what you think the picture should be rated and it will be added to this list.
What is the "Newest Comments" page?
Underneath every photo in the gallery there is an option to post a comment on the picture. You will have to put in your name and fill in an anti-spam CAPTCHA for the comment to post. The newest comments page will list all of the images with comments on them starting with the last comment left.
I want to send you my own show coverage. How do I do this?
I would love for anyone who has any event coverage they would like hosted to feel free to send them to me. You can send them over by clicking the "Show Coverage" link underneath the Upload Pages menu. Once you get there you will see an upload box at the top and an info form at the bottom. First select all of the show pictures in the box and hit the upload button. While your pictures are sending you can fill out the info form at the bottom with your name, the show name, your contact info, the number of photos, and the file name of the pictures. If you would like a description of the show to be shown at the top of the album you can also fill out the description box but it's not required. If any of your pictures sell you will be given 1/2 of the NET profit from the sale, so be sure to give me a good way to contact you so you can get paid. There is no guarantee any of the pictures will sell, but they're 100% more likely to sell online than sitting on your hard drive! You can find more information on uploading shows and image ownership by clicking the "Uploader Details" link on the left hand menu.
I want to view a slideshow of the images without having to click anything. How do I do this?
One of the very cool features of the gallery is the option to view the images in each particular album in a slideshow manner. They will fade between pictures and you can just sit back and watch the show without having to click any buttons. To see the slideshow, simple go to whatever album you want to see and click on the first thumbnail to open the intermediate image page. There you will see a small icon above the photo that looks like this: . Click that icon and the show will begin. You can stop the slideshow at any time by clicking the link under the photos that says "Stop Slideshow".
I want to send an E-Card to a friend. How do I do this?
Another cool feature of the gallery is the ability to send an e-card to your friends. An e-card is simply an email with the image attached that looks like a postcard. To do this just find the image in the gallery that you want to send. Above this image you will see an icon that looks like this: . Click that icon and you will be taken to a page asking for your inormation and your friend's information and e-mail address. Once you have filled all this in just hit the send button and your friend should receive the card within seconds!
